       RULES FOR THE ANNUAL COMPETITION

 Rules         
1  Sheets must not exceed a size of 12 x 11 inches.
2  A member may not exceed more than two entries in one  class.
3

 A member may not submit an entry that has been awarded   a prize in any class during the three previous years.

4  No competitor can win more than one prize in any one  class.
5  Each entry must be the property and the own work of the  competitor.
6  Although the competitor must indicate the class the exhibit is  entering, this can be changed without reference to him or her.
7  In theThematic class there should be an introductory sheet, with a plan, etc.
8  The number of prizes, in each class, depends on the  number of  entries:-
               1 or 2 entries     One prize (3rd)
               3 or 4 entries     Two prizes (2nd and 3rd)
               5 or more          Three prizes

JUDGING

        Members will judge the competition and mark each class on a scale of one to ten,

          giving consideration to:-

                 Interest

                 Philatelic knowledge & personal study

                 Condition & rarity

                   Presentation 

                     In Thematics - the Plan and how it has been developed.
 

Explanatory notes on the Classes 

Postal History 
Entries may consist of material ranging from pre-adhesives to the present day and including
airmails.
The principal part of the entry must be of material conveyed by post and
illustrating rates or routes, etc. Unused items should not be included.

Thematic
Entries can be illustrated by stamps, booklets, essays, proofs, covers or anything else philatelic. 
Maps and other non-philatelic must be kept to a minimum.

General
For entries of stamps or other philatelic material from any country, or group of countries. 
Social Philately, Cinderella material and Revenues are included in this class.

United Kingdom
As for the General class but restricted to U.K.  Entries could be GB issues used at, or overprinted
for, overseas agencies, or Forces Mail.

Newcomers
This class is for newcomers to the club, to the hobby or to entering competitions. It is open 
to anyone who has not won a prize at any stamp club.

Open 
Maximum of 8 sheets and may consist of anything philatelic giving a coherent display.
